Also, careful packing of your possessions is one of the most important things you can do to ensure every item arrives safely at your new home.
We will provide you with all the packing supplies necessary to ensure each item is fully protected. This includes packing tape, durable packing boxes, bubble and shrink wrap as well as regular and padded packing paper. We consider it our responsibility to make your move stress and damage-free. 1. What packing services do you offer?
At Firemen Movers, we offer a multitude of services including residential and commercial moving, packing and unpacking, temporary or long-term storage solutions, junk removal, a packing supply store, a used furniture donation program, green/eco-friendly moving supply options, and specialty item moving.
2. Can I do some of my own packing?
Of course! We recommend you properly stuff the boxes and wrap fragile items before you tape your boxes shut. It is also helpful for our movers if you label all sides of the boxes so we know what the contents are and where they should be placed in your new location. You can also mark “Fragile” on any boxes that need extra careful handling.
3. Are there any items I cannot move?
Yes, for public safety, governments have passed legislation that restricts the transportation of dangerous goods such as gasoline, propane tanks, oxygen, fire extinguishers, ammunition, and fireworks.
4. Can I pack and move my plants?
It is not typically recommended for you to move your plants. Our team will only accept plants if the move is not over 240 km and/or delivery will be within 24 hours. However, we will not be held responsible for any liabilities.
5. How should I prepare my lawnmower and gas-powered equipment for the move?
You will need to remove the fuel from these items. If they are going to be stored away for a while, see the owner’s manual for how to properly service them. As for a propane tank, you will need to purge it of any remaining gas before the movie. Certified propane services can do this for you.
6. How will my mirrors and pictures be protected and packed?
We can pack all your mirrors and pictures using special cartons and wrapping materials. That way they will arrive safely at your new location with maximum protection.
